Hiya! So, yes, my publishing story has been rough. I’m not going to lie. I wanted to throw in the “towel,” so to speak, so many times, but I didn’t. Why? Because I love writing. I always have. I’ve been doing it for as long as I can remember. And when it comes down to it. I’m not a quitter.
So, starting off, I wrote three stories over four years. Then, I did what every writer does: I started following social media platforms Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to help me find an agent or publishing company to publish my works.
For another two years, I queried agent and publisher after agent and publisher, only to be told almost every single time that my writing needed work.
“My story isn’t the right fit. My story is good, but they don’t think they are the right company or person for me.” The list goes on.
(Exhales loudly) The least I can say is that I was very discouraged and just finished trying to find someone to help me.
I took a break, editing my story for the hundredth time, and then found a smaller ebook publishing company. Finally, after five years of taking my writing seriously, I got a yes!
Now, I have one book published, Adele Wolf, and I’m working on the first book of my three-book series.
So, it shows that if you don’t give up, you will eventually find someone who wants to work with you!
